Can’t I appoint someone else to do all of this for me?

No.

The provision under the old (1994) Regulations which allowed a client to appoint an ‘agent’ who accepted all of the client’s legal duties is rescinded under CDM 2007. There is provision and a requirement for other members of the project team, and especially the CDM co-ordinator, to advise and assist the client - but the client’s duties cannot be transferred to others.
